Previous College: Associate in Science--South Central Community College (New Haven, CT) Bachelor in Education from UPEI Certified NCCP Level 3 Basketball Coach

Jay has coached at the high school, provincial, college and university levels for over 35 years.

At the high school level Jay developed a successful program at Bonar law High School leading the team to many provincial tournament appearances including several final four appearances.

At the college level Jay spent 15 years as an assistant coach at Mount Allison University (MTA). While at MTA he helped the women's team to a 7th place finish at the 2001 CCAA National Championships. He helped develop two CCAA All Canadians, and many ACAA All Conference players while there.

He also lead the Atlantic Baptist University (Crandall University) to their first ever ACAA playoff appearance in his one season at that school.

Jay was also on Kathy Murray's coaching staff for Basketball PEI's 2009 Canada Games team and the U17s for 2008 and 2012. The 2012 team had six players that went on to play at the college or university level.  He has been an assistant coach for PEI Center for Performance for 5 years.

Jay was the recipient of Basketball NB 2013 Coaching Merit Award.
