Basketball Panthers ready to enter the Shoveller

The 25th annual Rod & Joan Shoveller Memorial Men's Basketball Tournament takes place December 29-31, 2016 at Dalplex. The annual tournament will display some of the best talent in USports. Teams participating include AUS teams Dalhousie, Acadia, Saint Mary's, StFX and UPEI in addition to the OUA's Ottawa and Queen's, and Canada West's Mount Royal.

"We're very pleased to be hosting the Rod & Joan Shoveller Memorial Men's Basketball Tournament for the 25th year," says Tim Maloney, Director of Varsity Athletics. "The Shoveller family means a lot to us here at Dalhousie and we're excited to present what is sure to be an amazing display of U Sports men's basketball action at the end of the month."

"This tournament is a great way shake off the holiday rust and get ready for the second half," head coach Tim Kendrick said. 

Below is this years schedule, a ceremonial tip-off with the Shoveller family will take place at the beginning of Thursday's 8:00pm game featuring Mount Royal and the host Dalhousie Tigers.

The Panthers will return home for a tilt against the Dalhousie Tigers (5-2) on January 7th at 8:00 p.m.
