Mason Wilgosh gets the assist in helping the UPEI Panthers land its latest recruit. The Panthers announced Tuesday the addition of power forward Beau McCue for the 2016-17 season.
McCue, a native of Missoula, Mont., played the past four seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL.
He admitted to knowing "almost nothing" about UPEI and P.E.I in particular before the Panthers coaching staff contacted him about moving across North America to join their team.
McCue spoke with head coach Forbes MacPherson and assistant coach Brad MacKenzie before committing to UPEI. "With the coaching from Forbes and Brad and everyone at UPEI, I think, I can develop more and hopefully get a pro opportunity when I am done and have a degree as well," he said. "They're looking to make a push, and I hope to contribute to that. It would be awesome to win a title with UPEI."
