Bio
Originally from Bracebridge Ontario, Curtis moved to the maritimes in 2014 following his time at Humber College. As a player, Curtis competed provincial for the Ontario Jr. Blues and won three OCAA Championships with the Humber Hawks. Additionally, he competed with Canada at the U17 Level.
 
Curtis began his coaching at 16 where, while still attending high school, assisted with the women's rugby program at Bracebridge Muskoka Lakes Secondary School. A few years later Curtis would hold an assistant coach role with the Ontario Storm team who won a National Championship in Calgary. That same year Curtis had the opportunity to coach in Uganda for just under a month with the organization, Gainline Africa. These experiences catapulted his desire to continue to pursue coaching.
 
Upon arriving to Fredericton in 2014 Curtis immediately sunk his teeth into representative rugby on the East Coast. His first role was as the U16 Men's head coach with Rugby NB. Through the following years he took on a number of roles within the organization including Senior Women's Head Coach, Technical Director, Canada Games Head Coach and others. In his role as Technical Director he also implemented the creation of a Performance Academy that has led to his current role as Performance Coach with Rugby NB.
 
Since arriving on the East Coast he has also held a number of regional and national coaching positions. With the Atlantic Keltics, Curtis acted as the Assistant coach for several years including earning a silver National medal with the program. Additionally, Curtis was a part of the creation of the Atlantic Privateers (previously Atlantic Selects) program and held the role of Assistant coach from its inauguration until this year. His time with the Privateers was highlighted by another National Championship win in 2024.
 
Curtis' first role with Rugby Canada was with the U18 Men's program in 2018. He worked with the U18 Men's program for a few seasons as an Assistant Coach. Next Curtis held a Guest Coach role for the U20 Canada Women's program for a top 40 camp in Victoria, BC. His most recent and longest standing role has been with the U18 Canada Women where he began in 2019 and continues to work with the program.
 
More importantly Curtis is supported by two young sons, Colby and Myles, and his wife Sharis. He loves fishing with his sons, sandwiches & camping. He is the author of two children's books (Go Forward & "What I Wish You Knew" from Coach). He is also passionate about mental health and suicide prevention.
