The UPEI Panthers (9-19-0-2) concluded a tough 2024-25 regular season campaign with a 4-2 loss to the Moncton Aigles Bleus (19-8-2-0) on Friday night at the MacLauchlan Arena, finishing another season series winless.
This season, it wasn’t meant to be for the UPEI Panthers (7-14-0-2) against the Acadia University Axemen (13-13-1-1), who entered Saturday’s Alumni Night game at the MacLauchlan Arena looking to finally triumph against Acadia after losing the last four attempts.
Despite flying out of the gates with playoff-style intensity and taking advantage of the return of their head coach and two captains, the UPEI Panthers (7-14-0-1) had a crucial opportunity slip out of their hands against the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (14-8-2-0) on Friday night at the MacLauchlan Arena, allowing six goals in the final two periods and ultimately losing 6-4.
The UPEI Panthers (7-12-0-1) rallied explosively after an ugly start against the Dalhousie Tigers (3-19-0-0), avoiding an upset with a four-goal burst in the third period en route to an emotional, high-intensity 7-4 win at the MacLauchlan Arena on Friday.
The UPEI Panthers skated away with a hard fought 4-3 win over the STFX X-Men on Saturday night at the Charles V Keating Centre. First star and Player of the Game Ben McFarlane (Ayr, ON) scored twice in the third period for the Panthers, including the game tying and game winning goals.
